Capcom-a-day: Dimitri

I missed yesterday's Capcom-a-day, but tomorrow, I'll be going off to my granma's and I'm going for 3 days, so I'm probably gonna have to make 4 Capcom characters when I get back... I'll sort that out when the time comes, for now, enjoy today's Capcom-A-Day, Dimitri from Darkstalkers.

Capcom-A-Day: Ryu

I've decided to do a daily drawing activity which I will call Capcom-A-Day, as in, I draw one Capcom character every day. This'll be something to keep me drawing fun "me" stuff every day that doesn't involve deadlines or being a comic.

Today's Subject, Ryu

Marvel Masterpieces II Artist Proof Sketchcards for auction

This is it, I'm ebaying my Next Wave puzzle set I drew for the Marvel Masterpieces II Artist Proof cards. Here is the link to the ebay item:

Next Wave!

Bid for it if you want it ^_^

Marvel Masterpieces II Artist Proof Cards

So, Marvel gave us 10 Artist Proof cards where we can draw Marvel cards and do whatever we like with it, keep it, sell it, trade it, ebay it, whatever... I finally finished my MM2 APs and just got them approved by Marvel a couple of hours ago. I had 6 of the cards commissioned exclusively for people on the Scoundrel Art Forum and 1 card for the winner of the name everyone in my MM3 list I did a couple of entries ago. So that leaves me with three cards to do whatever I want with. And here's what I did:

What's gonna happen to these three cards is that I'm gonna ebay em... as a set, of course. When will I start? I dunno yet, but once I do, I'll announce it here, my livejournal and probably on my deviantart journal too. If you want this Next Wave set I did, just keep your eyes peeled for my ebay announcement in the next couple of days.

Marvel Masterpieces III Sketchcards

That's right, I joined the Marvel Masterpieces sketchcard again. I made a challenge to myself to do 50 guys and 50 girls (or at least, robots that looked like guys or girls) and I also made a challenge to do it all in full color and individual cards only, no repeat characters.

Anyways, I finished it and thankfully, succeeded in all my challenges.

I took 100 cards for this set and I found out with 100 cards, I cannot draw all the characters I wanted to draw... there are only two cards in there that I didn't really wanna draw the character but had no idea at the time who to draw.

Bigger size version is available in my Livejournal and also a challenge for a free Marvel Masterpieces II Artist Proof Sketchcard.

Komikoo #4 is out!

And my latest comic is in it. I'm kinda proud with how this comic turned out cos I really put effort in it especially the colouring. I also coloured it straight in CMYK, so the comic prints out EXACTLY how I coloured it, so that's pretty cool there. Well, it's a little dark, but I think that's cos of the paper used. The cover is done by a friend and colleague of mine, Kromosom, very talented individual. Anyways, 2-page preview to my comic under the cut.

Malaysians, go get em at your local newsstands and bookstores!!

Marvel Sketchcards: 2/2

Last batch of cards, approved and sent out. The quality's not as good as the first batch, but that's my fault cos I was practically rushing these (especially the last 60 cards, I think) to meet the deadline... that'll teach me to procrastinate...

Also, I made it a goal for myself to go through all 350 cards WITHOUT drawing Wolverine (not cos I hate the guy, cos I don't, I love wolverine, but I figure everyone else will be drawing him anyway, so missing from one artist won't be so bad), but in the end, I buckled as you can see in my last card. Oh well! Ha ha ha ha. Still, enjoy peeps.

Marvel Sketchcards: 1/2

I'm doing a Marvel Masterpieces II Sketchcards work and I just got my first batch ALL approved, so here it is, in one LOOOOOONG collected form. 180 sketchcards, soon to be available inside boxes of Marvel Masterpieces II trading cards. Only ONE card per box in a random pack inside said box. I'm doing 350 cards and I'm well on my way to putting in the finishing it all... soon... real soon...

A Gurren Lagann project that me and a couple of my friends are doing for this weekend's local Malaysian event called GACC that will be held in MMU Melaka. What is the project? Well, I'll go into the details of it after the event, for now, enjoy what I have.

Also, for those who's coming to GACC, do drop by the Yon Gumi booth... uhhh... somewhere in the artists booth section.

Stupidity: On TV!!

So, I came to work, turn on a computer and goes to my usual net spots, which includes the place where I get ALL my gaming news, Kotaku. And one of the gaming news that I got? Stupidity of Mainstream News Television... FOX News...

Okay, yeah, people have always said that Fox News is just not a credible piece of news network as they get facts wrong and/or they don't get any kind of facts at all, but man, the annoyance level... it'll always be there, yanno? This time, they were talking about this really superb game, Mass Effect.

Basically, Mass Effect has this part in the game where you can have sexual relations with a partner of your choosing between 2 characters, depending on what gender you play. But to get to this sex-scene, so to say, you have to go through 20++ hours of gameplay before arriving to said scene which, from what I heard, is near the end of the game and to get it, you have to work hard for it, choosing the right thing to say and the right thing to do. Heck, you might not even get it from what I heard if you do things wrong.

Yes, you see me type from what I heard mainly because, for lack of a console, I haven't really played this game. I mean, I'm playing it, but on my friend's console and I'm playing like, 1-2 hours a time and so far, I only played it for 3 times. That's beside the point.

Fox News is saying that Mass Effect is a horrible influence to children because it depicts "full nudity and sexual intercourse where you can do whatever you want" if I quote the anchorbi... I mean, woman, correctly. This is totally unfounded and untrue. From what I know, there is no nudity, the scene was tastefully done and all you get is a 2 minute cut scene of the sexual intercourse in progress. And out of a 30++ hours of gameplay? What is 2 minutes? But apparently, this is the issue that's being spotlighted on Fox News and how the game is a bad influence because of it, even though the game's main storyline does not even revolve around that scene. They got this debate thing that went on for less than 5 minutes between Geoff Keighley, someone from EGM I think and an "expert psychologist" who says that the game objectifies women and is played by children despite having a Mature rating (which is 17-18 and above) and the annoying part is how the "expert psychologist" and the anchorbi... I mean, woman, keeps on interrupting Keighley when he tried to set the record straight about Mass Effect. And when Geoff finally gets his time to say something, the anchorbi... I mean, woman, interrupted him and said, "Oh, we're out of time" and then they went to a bunch of stupid people panelist who complains about the game that they never played (Keighley asked the "expert psychologist" if she played Mass Effect and she scoffed and said, "No") and one of the panelist said that it's unfortunate that parents have to work harder now to keep tabs on their kids. Why is that unfortunate? You wanna go party the whole night and leave your kids alone if their responsible enough to take care of themselves? It's unfortunate cos kids bog your life down or something? That's a horrible thing to say.

I just find this whole thing so annoying and stupid, so out of the advice of a friend, I decided to blog about it and let it out.

For full story, click this link to Kotaku's article of the matter.

Dumb anchorbitch.

New sketches

(Cross posting with my livejournal)

I finished some work at the office and drew this earlier last week, but didn't scan it til now. These are just some faces I drew, see if you can recognise these people... except for the one on the top, that's just some random weirdly shaped head guy...

Right after that, I decided to draw a bit of a commentary to Marvel's "One More Day" story arc of recent Spider-Man comics.

Then, I decided to draw some Altair heads which then lead to me drawing that weird looking guy with a creepy smile at the bottom corner and that made me want to draw the Heath Ledger Joker of the upcoming The Dark Knight movie. And I added Scarecrow in there for fun... anyways, that leads to...

...A full sketch of the Batman Rogues in a slightly sort of kind of not really realistic look.
